B Sc. Biotechnology

B.Sc. Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary program that merges biology and technology, focusing on the application of living organisms and bioprocesses in various sectors such as engineering, technology, and medicine. The course covers a wide array of topics including genetic engineering, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and industrial biotechnology, providing students with the knowledge and skills to drive innovation in pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and environmental conservation. Graduates can pursue careers in research and development, quality control, clinical research, and bio-manufacturing, or continue their studies with advanced degrees in biotechnology or related fields.

M Sc. Biotechnology

M.Sc. Biotechnology is a postgraduate program designed to deepen students' understanding of the advanced principles and applications of biotechnology. It delves into specialized subjects such as advanced molecular biology, genetic engineering, bioinformatics, and bioprocess technology, equipping students with the expertise required for cutting-edge research and innovation. The curriculum often includes practical lab work, research projects, and industry internships to provide hands-on experience. Graduates of M.Sc. Biotechnology are well-prepared for careers in research and development, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and environmental management, or can pursue doctoral studies for further specialization.

Certificate in Hydroponics and Mycological techniques

A certificate course in Hydroponics and Mycological Techniques offers specialized training in soilless farming and the cultivation of fungi. Fundamentals of hydroponic systems, nutrient management, and environmental control for efficient plant growth, alongside techniques for mushroom cultivation, including spawn production, substrate preparation, and harvesting. Through practical sessions and hands-on experience, participants gain the skills needed to implement sustainable and innovative agricultural practices. Graduates of this course can pursue careers in urban farming, commercial mushroom production, agricultural consultancy, and sustainable food production.

Prof J Chandrashekhar from IITDM Jabalpur visted department on 26 th Aug 2022 and its role in Biotechnology with the faculty members on Artificial Intelligence. The faculty members of the department of Biotechnology Dr Sonal Pathak, Dr Shyamji Shukla and Mr Bhaskar Pradhan attended the discussion. The details were provided by Dr Chandrashekhar on machine learning and its exploitation in biotechnology.
